Mr. Walker is an artist living in the Sacramento area of California. He works in a style he calls "Suburban Primitive". This style combines his interest in the origins and functions of art as well as everyday life in the suburbs. Mr. Walker seeks to depict this life from a psychological, emotional and intellectual viewpoint rather that a visually realistic rendition of his environment. Mr. walker's work has been shown in more than 50 solo exhibits and numerous group ones over the years. Most of his work is small and intimate in scale and tends to be gouache on board. Mr. walker holds both a MFA degree (University of Kansas) and a MA degree ( University of Central Missouri) and he taught art in the public schools for 30 years prior to retirement.
