The Fisherman's Journey

A Rose and Where It Goes

Robin Young works in mixed media focusing mostly on collage and contemporary art making. From large, life-sized pieces and 3D sculptures to small postcard-sized arrangements, Robin's keen eye and gripping esthetic guide her viewers into her own semi-readymade world. Repurposing these nostalgic images for lighthearted and sometimes disquieting messages; Robin’s artistic universe is strange, funky, sometimes perverse and always alluring. Robin lives in the California desert with her creative husband John and lazy dog Comet.

Artist Statement: My intention is to create a collection of odd sorts. My work is all about the quiet introvert living inside who escapes through nostalgia and weird television programs of my youth. The Twilight Zone, Adams Family, One Step Beyond, The Outer Limits, Night Gallery to name a few. I have always been inspired by the, macabre, different, strange, bizarre, esoteric, etherial and eclectic and I know it shows up in the pieces I create.
