Omens
~after Danusha Lameris
The morning of the evening
of my husband’s fatal crash
out of seventy-eight tarot cards
I picked the Tower.
The Tower.
Bold blue sky
screaming
golden bolts of lightning—
I’d almost call it beautiful.
Purple tears
falling from the moon.
